Höfnin Restaurant
Höfnin is a wonderful family-run restaurant that specialises in Icelandic cuisine and seafood. It is located by the harbour, in the new and vibrant harbour district that is becoming increasingly popular with hundreds of tourists and locals visiting daily.
The owners, husband and wife, Brynjar and Elsa opened Höfnin in 2010 and focused on maintaining the soul and spirit of the house which is built in the 1930’s and served as baiting shed and fishing gear storage over the turn of the last century. They run the restaurant with a passion which clearly runs in the family as their sons all take part in the running of the business.
Their menu consists mostly of traditional Icelandic cuisine with a modern twist. The shellfish soup is especially popular, along with the mussels, the traditional creamy fish stew and the Icelandic lamb.
