Gljúfrabúi Waterfall2016-10-22T14:05:51+00:00

Project Description

Gljúfrabúi waterfall is located at Hamragarðar, close to its better-known counterpart, Seljalandsfoss waterfall. Despite being relatively unknown, this waterfall is so worth exploring. It is 40 meters high and hidden behind a large cliff, adding to the atmosphere of the scenery. In order to view the whole waterfall, you’ll need to either wade the Gljúfrá river into a narrow opening in the cliff or climb the path up the cliff. Please be aware that this can be hazardous and we recommend having good shoes or wading boots on for this journey. The trouble is well worth it because once you’ve made it inside the view is spectacular; an amazing waterfall and the stunning light falling from above – a very different from the average waterfall sight.
