A few hundred meters north of the town Húsavík, a bit hidden on a cliff, is an old cheese tub that has been converted into a hot tub in the nature. It is a fairly popular bathing spot among locals and those who suffer from psoriasis and eczema as the clean natural water is particularly good for the skin. There is a small shed by the hot tub where you can change and take a shower. The heat of the tub is between 38-42°C so it will keep you warm, even on a cold winter night.
There is no management of this tub and therefore no entry charge is taken. No need to worry about opening times either, as you are welcome to take a dip whenever suits you. With a spectacular view over Skjálfandi Bay, it may just be the perfect place to watch the midnight sun on a summer night.
